WATERWAYS, RAILWAYS & ROADWAYS
TRANSPORTATION IN THE GATINEAU VALLEYExplore the history of transportation in the Gatineau Valley, from early days to the 1970s.
This exhibit highlights how human power, animal power and mechanical power have been used over the centuries to transport people and goods throughout the Gatineau Valley.
Historic photos, maps and archival documents present the story of transportation in the Gatineau Valley from the journeys of the Anishnabèg who travelled by foot, snowshoe, toboggan and canoe, through the era of horse-drawn travel, to the arrival of the automobile and the rise and fall of train service to the area.
