rebelle + duust
Once described as “filthy with a beat” Rebelle, a Wakefield, Quebec based four-piece draws inspiration from bands like Muse, Demob Happy, The Vines, Band of Skulls, Blur, Oasis, Black Sabbath and Dinosaur Pile-Up.
DUUST (pronounced “dust”) is a new indie-alt project from Ryan Wiles formerly of Rebelle and Farewell Davidson.
Through the writing process, Wiles & Co. have been trying to let the songs evolve organically and take on their own life, rather than trying to source a particular “sound”. All of the songs are written in an indie-alt realm with sonics reminiscent of Nirvana, Radiohead, and The Strokes.
DUUST released two singles in 2024. Both the 90’s nostalgia “Bury Me” & the Post-punk, meets ethereal indie “Over” give a scope into the vision of the band and what is to come. DUUST is an open ended project with lots of room for experimentation and plenty of new music coming out over the course of the next year and beyond, with loose plans to drop a full length album in the Fall of 2025.
